Valentine Swap, Part 2

Hello, Sweet Friends. I've been so excited to share Part 2 of this Valentine Heart Swap, hosted by the marvelous Marsha of The Tattered Chick!

Kate, from the blog Crazy Purple Mom was the recipient of this little valentine heart that I created. As you can guess, her favorite color is purple, so I decided to stitch a heart in a soft shade of periwinkle/lavender. I love periwinkle. I've always thought of it as the perfect shade of purplie-blue. (Yes, another new vocabulary word for you all!)

This was my first real attempt at stitching with felt, and I loved it. I may be hooked. I wish that I could stitch a valentine heart for each of you! I've always been inspired by the beautiful and whimsical stitched felt creations of Elizabeth and Paulette, and have always wanted to try my hand at it. This heart swap was the perfect opportunity to stretch my stitchin' wings! I sent this little heart in the felt envelope above, addressed to Kate...

... and even sealed the envelope with a tiny stitched "xox"! I stitched the back of the heart with a little flower, a "J", and a little stitched heart. As they say, "love is in the details"-- right?

This was also one of my first attempts at beading. Don't you love these little pearl beads? They're so teeny tiny-- it took a bit of time to get the hang of handling them. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this sweet little valentine, and hope that it makes Kate's heart happy. I know that having the opportunity to stitch it for her made my heart happy!

Valentine Swap, Part 1

A few weeks ago I took a leap and decided to join Marsha's Valentine Swap. I knew who I was to create a heart for, however I did not know who I was going to receive a heart from. Little did I know that I would receive an envelope all the way from The Netherlands~ from the lovely Lisette from Liszha's Scrappy World! She created this adorable polka dot pink stitched heart, and I love it! And as if that wasn't sweet enough, she included even more wonderful goodies:

I instantly fell in love with this adorable dangly heart key fob! She used my current favorite color combination-- pink, red, and turquoise. Looking at all the little details, it's so evident that she made this with me in mind.

Lisette is also a very talented paper crafter. She created this absolutely gorgeous tag for me using a variety of materials-- it's so beautiful! I've always admired people that can bring together several elements and materials so perfectly. It's a skill that does not come naturally to me, so I'm always so in awe of people who seem to have a natural knack for it.

Oh-- and she included this rubber stamp and some fun, sparklie di-cut tags also! This was such a fun envelope to open, so full of fun surprises! Thank you so much, Lisette, for the beautiful heart and all these wonderful, thoughtful goodies!

Rosanna's Christmas Swap, Part 2

This is what I was able to put together to send to Kat. She's a very talented miniaturist, so I was a bit nervous! I made the cookies and milk for Santa-- however, I broke down and bought the beautiful stocking (I wish I could give credit, but I have no idea who made it). I thought the box of See's Candy was appropriate-- you see a lot of it around here (California) at Christmastime. I hope she liked these!

Rosanna's Christmas Swap

Oh, how I love receiving surprises in the mail!! I received these wonderful mini's from Kate at The Whittaker's Miniatures in England. The wonderful tree is full of hand sculpted pink and white mini candy canes and lollipops! Incredible! I love the pink plate of yummy cookies for Santa! They look so real! And then there's the books! The fabulous books! They are all Christmas books that I love! I really do need to learn how to make mini books. I love mini books! Thank you so much, Kate. Your package was so fun to open (love the 1:1 chocolate!) and your mini creations were just absolute wonderful! They look right at home in The Little Pink House. It has been so exciting to receive something from a blogger that I've followed. I think it makes the world feel a little cozier. Thank you so much, dear Kate!

Christmas Bracelet Charm Swap!

Saucy of Saucy Sprinkles recently hosted some charm bracelet swaps that I participated in. This first one has a red/green theme. The collection of charms that everyone contributed were so fun and eclectic! Can you guess which one I made and sent?!

If you guessed the tiny Christmas fruitcake, you are correct! And, true to it's fruitcake nature, it's the heaviest charm on the bracelet. This was my first attempt at sculpting any kind of cake out of fimo. It doesn't look very real. It's more of an "artistic interpretation" of a fruitcake. I think it would be hilarious to see it re-gifted next year in some charm swap!

This next charm bracelet had an aqua/pink vintage theme. I love how it came together. It looks so sparklie and pretty. Any guesses as to which one I made?!

It's the silver angel with pink and aqua crystals! This was an easy charm to assemble, and I love the sparkle.

Kathi's Five Star Christmas Swap

I recently participated in Kathi's Five Star Christmas Swap. It was a lot of fun to collaborate with other miniaturist. Everyone has their own distinctive, wonderful style. (I'm sorry this photo is so blurry--I was too lazy and rushed to take the time to get the tripod!) I love everything that Kathi made-- the books, poinsettia, beaded tree sculpture, basket of tiny (real!) pine cones, and the beautiful beaded wreath!

This little cabinet and box full of Christmas goodies was created by Kim. It was her first miniature swap, and she went above and beyond!

Look at all the wonderful little goodies! It was hard to choose my most favorite thing-- I love the gingerbread house so much-- and that hand-stitched stocking is wonderful!

Karin made this fabulously detailed plate of goodies (the photo doesn't do it justice) and this wonderful holly wreath.

I just love this trio that Deborah created. I love the beaded tabletop tree. The bells are already hanging above the front door of the Little Pink House... and isn't that little clay snowman just adorable!?

I actually squealed when I opened this! I had wanted to create this, but didn't even know where to begin. Jaime is so creative, and did a wonderful job! Again, I apologize for the terrible photography on this post. The pictures don't do these items any justice. Everything has such wonderful detail, and I did a poor job of capturing it on film.
