Oooooh No!

My blog is naked.

My camera has died. Sweet friends, I need your help. Many of you bloggie friends take such great photos, so I think your feedback could be very helpful. I'm seriously in the market for a new camera and I need some suggestions. Please tell me if you know of a good "point-and-shoot" camera out there, and why you like it.

Thanks so much! I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Hugs,

hi jill,

for my birthday i simply asked for a point-and-shoot and hoped it would be pink or aqua.

my husband bought me a canon powershot (http://www.flickr.com/cameras/canon/powershot_a1100_is/) and i love it. so simple to use. i haven't even read the manual! i do go through batteries quite a bit. i'm guessing that's the case with most cameras.

good luck!

Jill, I am sure that you will get 100 different answers and they will all be good. I just get to be first. I have a Canon Power Shot A540. It is a couple of years old and I love it. Very easy to use and takes good close ups of Tessie. She says that's all that is important and she should know.LOL

Jill I completely understand the horrors of having a camera die! I have a FujiFilm Finepix S1000 which I LOVE...however I think they have been discontinued... I bought mine at Walmart so I checked there...they have a Fujifilm S1800 which appears to be the next generation of my camera. It has a fantastic Macro as well as Super Macro on it. The 1800 is just over $200 and can be ordered online through Walmart. Happy Camera hunting! =D

I use a FugiFilm FinePix A820 8.3 mega pixel camera that happens to have a 4x optical zoom lens. More importantly, it has an awesome macro function that allows me to get great pictures of up close things like miniatures and flower blooms.

There are other settings for video and red eye reduction, and it's hard to accidentally switch the mode to one you do not want. By the same token if you do want to change the mode, it is easy to accomplish.

I've always been happy with any Canon camera, Jill. But I'm sure there are many other brands out there that are just as good. I think you should go to a camera shop and talk to the sales staff and try some out!

Good luck!

Hi Jill! I just found your blog and thought I'd come over for a visit. I do so love your stitching and I just think the little girl with pig tails is great! I'm just learning simple stitches but love it. Good luck with your search for a camera, I don't know what I'd do without my Nikon! It takes great photos and it's fairly easy to use. My friend just bought a Canon and likes it just the same. Becca

You poor thing - being without a camera these days is really hard. I few years ago I did A LOT of research looking for a point-and-shoot digital camera. I bought a FujiFilm Finepix F31 fd. I am very pleased with it.

One of my brothers is an excellent amateur photographer and he sent me off to look at a site called www.dpreview.com Well worth a look.

Hope you get sorted out soon, Best wishes, Carol :)

Hi Jill,
I have a Canon Power Shot. It has 12.1 megapixels and was less then $200.00. I had bought it before blogging to carry in my purse. It is small. I also have a Nikon which was over $500.00 but too complicated to use. The Canon takes great pictures and is easy to use and excellent to carry around. One other little perk is that is comes in really cool colors.
Hugs,
Care

I have one I really love... It's a Canon PowerShot SX120IS. It's easy peasy to use, and it takes really good pictures...and I'm not proud of this, but I didn't even read the instructions! It has lots of settings I've never used... but right out of the box, it takes good pictures! Good luck! Paulette xo
