A Fresh New Year

Happy New Year, Sweet Friends. I know, I'm a bit belated with my greetings. I think for once, instead of thinking, talking or writing about what I want to do in the new year, I've just been doing it. Imagine that! Me, actually doing something!
This adorable, giant-poof-of-a-pincushion was a fabulous Christmas gift from my fabulous friend Lisa-- and it's kind of become a springboard into the new year for me.

I love this giant pincushion more than words can say. It's in my favorite colors, and I love it so much I want an ottoman that looks just like it, for my living room. Wouldn't that be adorable?! Lisa so generously cut into one of her favorite fabric stashes to create it, like only a true friend would. I know this was not the easiest thing for her, so I love it all the more. (Thank you so much, sweet friend!)

Like I mentioned above, this giant-poof-of-a-pincushion has been a bit of a springboard into the new year for me. When you bring something new into your home, do you ever clean and tidy the house before finding a home for that item? Am I the only one that feels that way? I also feel that way about crafting. I want the house tidy, and then I feel like I can "treat" myself to some creativity. Needless to say, there wasn't a whole lot of crafting going on around here last year.

Without going into it, I'm really happy that last year is over. I'm really ready to move forward into this new year.

I've been cleanin' and stitchin'--- and it's been pure bliss for me. Creativity makes me happy. Simple, but true. I haven't been doing anything fancy, just sweet and simple stitching. Everything that I've been stitching has been gifts for friends and family. Creating for people I love adds a whole different level of joy for me. How 'bout you?

Well, my Sweet Friends-- stay tuned, and please come back soon to see what I've been up to!

Hugs,

That is a beautiful pin cushion! What a lovely friend- and to cut into her stash- sooo sweet ♥ I also feel like everything has to be neat and tidy before I can treat myself to creating- and with work being so busy at the end of 2011 not a lot of creating was going on at my house either. Here's hoping 2012 is full of creativity for both of us!!!! I can't wait to see what you've been stitching Jill :)

I can really relate to what you say about getting things clean and organized to a point that I can start a project. We all know that point is such a fleeting thing. Before I can get started, something comes up and there I am again...so nothing much gets crafted. I wish I could just get over it and create already!!

I'm the same way. I want the house to be neat and tidy before I start creating! That pincushion is to die for. Some of my favorite colors, too - they're in my kitchen!

I'm so glad you're having fun creating!

Happy new year sweet friend, hope the year brings love, joy and happiness. I would like to think the cleaning gets done at my house before crafting lol, crafting always wins. That pin cushion is seriously cute, how lucky are you.
Love me :-)

Oh dear Jill...if I waited for my house to be clean before I started crafting, I would never create another thing! LOL. My kids seem to follow me, creating mess and havoc :)
Lisa's pincushion is an absolute beauty! Bliss is a favourite, and you are SO worth it, my dear friend. I love the idea of it being your springboard into new and wonderful things! HAPPY NEW YEAR xxx

I know what you mean about clearing up before crafting - I like my surroundings to be organised too. That's why I don't get much done at the moment! Happy crafting XX

Happy New year, Jill! I hope you'll share some of your creations soon. I have pincushions on the brain for some reason and I love one you were gifted.

I usually start out tidy when making things but sadly, it all goes downhill much too quickly... :-)
